WHAT IS A "FRIENDSHIP GROUP?"

 

  • getting together monthly with other children who have Down syndrome in your age range, for fun activities and time together
  • learning from one another
  • forming true, deep friendships
  • opportunity for families to connect 

If you have a child with Down syndrome and would like to be part of starting a Friendship Group for their age range, lets get together to start some planning:

What is Down Syndrome?

Down syndrome is a chromosome disorder which usually causes a delay in physical, intellectual and language development. The degree to which each individual is affected varies widely. The exact causes of Down syndrome are currently unknown, and although there are prenatal tests that can detect Down syndrome, there is at this time no method for prevention and no cure.
