Please mark your calendar for a DSAL hang out on May 6th. We'd love to see all of our families with a member 10 and under.
While we are together, we would love for the kids to help decorate a poster to thank Dog and Duck for donating proceeds from their charity golf tournament to DSAL!
We will also have an added component to this hang out. Kids from Pinckney Elementary School's Project ONEE have volunteered to join us and hang out with our kiddos and perhaps give parents a little extra ease in actually conversing with each other! This 3rd grade class at Pinckney is currently partnering with special education classes at Laurel Hill Primary in an effort to spread empathy, understanding and acceptance to those with differing abilities. They created a group called Project ONEE (Open minds + new knowledge + empathy = Extraordinary change). Twice a month the students do Buddy Visits with the special education classes, in addition to various research projects and activities.
One of the students in this class, Olivia, reached out to DSAL wanting to volunteer. Her teacher, Ms Samantha Shealy is on board with this get together.

When: May 6th at 3:00 pm [Rain date is the following day, May 7th at 3:00 pm]
Where: Center Park (2225 Daniel Island Dr, Charleston, SC 29492) This park has two sets of equipment (one for younger kiddos and one for older) as well as a lot of shade if desired.
Who: Families with a DSAL member 10 and younger (but of course anyone is welcome to come and join the fun!) This also, of course, includes moms, dads, siblings, and our expectant moms and dads.
