Adaptive Swim Adventure Week is a joyful, inclusive swim program hosted by DSAL in partnership with Lowcountry Swim School.
Designed for children with Down syndrome ages 3 and up, this summer program helps participants build water confidence, practice important safety skills, and experience the fun of swimming in a supportive environment.
Adaptive Swim Adventure Week is typically held in the summer, generally in June, in North Charleston.
About the Program
For many families, swim lessons can feel intimidating or hard to access. Adaptive Swim Adventure Week creates a welcoming space where children with Down syndrome can learn, grow, and shine in the water with instructors who understand the importance of patience, encouragement, and individualized support.
Throughout the week, participants have the opportunity to build comfort in the water, strengthen swim and safety skills, and celebrate progress at their own pace.
